My dream vacation would be to go to France! I would have to take along my best travel partner and fellow adventure seeker, my sister Shanowa. We have had great adventures together since we were little, even though some were through our vivid imaginations as we were exploring new places we visited on family vacations. Not to mention she has a knack for learning new languages, as Canadian French is different from Persian dialect spoken in France.  I have never mastered rolling my R’s as easily as she has, the words seem to roll of her tongue with ease, as I tend to get tongue tied. Shanowa has a way of making everything a little more fun and exciting. Visiting France together would be a magical time, and would create lifelong memories together. My sister and I would love to explore the beautiful country of France together. As the capital city of France, Paris has endured as an important city for more than 2,000 years. Often called by nicknames like the “city of love” and “city of lights,” Paris is today one of the world’s leading centers for business, fashion, entertainment, art and culture. Just the mere mention of Paris conjures up images of the city’s world famous landmarks, museums and cathedrals. My dream vacation would include some of the top tourist attractions in Paris:

Disneyland Park, originally Euro Disneyland, is the first of two theme parks built at Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallée, France, opened on 12 April 1992. Wikipedia

The best part of going with Shanowa is that because we have different interests, we could see the many different attractions that we both like. The first place that we would definitely agree on visiting would be Disney Paris. A place where we could re-live our childhood memories and visit sleeping beauty’s castle. We have watched every Disney movie ever released, some of my favorite memories with my sister. Actually we still love watching the classics and the new Disney creations. Now that Shanowa lives on her own we still have sleepovers and movie nights together. I could just imagine the both of us going on all the rides and excitingly visiting all the magical attractions that a Paris Disney themed park would have to offer.

Moulin Rouge number one show in Paris

Another place we would love to go to when in France would be the famous Moulin Rouge theater. According to Wikipedia, Moulin Rouge is best known as the spiritual birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance. Originally introduced as a seductive dance by the courtesans who operated from the site, the can-can dance revue evolved into a form of entertainment of its own and led to the introduction of cabarets across Europe. Today, Moulin Rouge is a tourist attraction, offering musical dance entertainment for visitors from around the world. The club’s decor still contains much of the romance of fin de siècle France.

Musée d’Orsay

Located in a former railway station, this grand museum showcases thousands of art works and objects that cover a period between the mid-1800s and the early 1900s.

I know one of my sisters must see France attractions would be the famous Louvre in Paris is one of the world’s largest and most visited art museums in the world. The other art museum located in Paris, the Musee d’Orsay is known for housing the world’s premier collection of impressionist paintings. My sister loves art, especially old art. I would find it interesting seeing some of the worlds most oldest and famous artwork from artists such as   Monet, Van Gogh.

Louvre Museum

“Topping the list of the world’s most visited museums, the Louvre Museum is located in the Louvre Palace with its signature glass pyramid marking its entrance. Housing a collection of more than 1 million objects, the Louvre boasts some of the world’s most famous art works such as Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” Michelangelo’s “Dying Slave” and the Greek statue, “Venus of Milo.” Other popular exhibits include the extravagant apartments of Napoleon III, the ancient Code of Hammurabi, Egyptian antiquities and paintings by masters like Rembrandt and Rubens. Touropia”

The most beautiful places Shanowa and I would love to see while in France would be the beautiful castles. France is also famous for their beautiful castles and palaces. I hear some of them are haunted! It would be amazing to step back in time and see some of these most opulent residences that were once home to Marie Antoinette, Kings and Royal families even Napoleon Bonaparte once called one of these home!

Of course we would have to see the most recognizable landmarks when in Paris! My sister and I would have to get lots of pictures for all our family of these popular sites.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe was constructed in 1806 to memorialize the triumphal battles of Napoleon Bonaparte. Standing 164 feet high and 148 feet (50 by 45 meters) wide, the arch features intricate reliefs depicting victorious battles and engraved names of many who died fighting for the emperor. Beneath the arch is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the first world war.

Visiting the iconic symbol of Paris usually ranks as the number one thing to do for most
tourists. Towering more than 1,000 feet (300 meters) high in the Champ de Mars park, this iron structure was constructed for the 1889 World Exposition. One of the world’s most photographed tourist attractions.

No trip to Paris could be complete without a visit to the world famous Notre Dame cathedral. Standing more than 400 feet (120 meters) high with two lofty towers and a spire, this marvelous church is considered a supreme example of French Gothic architecture. A tour of this 13th century masterpiece allows visitors to admire the awe-inspiring rose windows, Gothic carvings, beautiful sculptures and a collection of relics.

I think one of the most interesting and probably most fascinating places we would like to visit would be the Catacombs of Paris. One of the most eye-popping sights of Paris, the Catacombs represent a network of labyrinthine tunnels, first excavated in the Roman period, that now house the remains of over 6 million burials. This would probably beat any scarey movie that Shanowa and I have ever watched. I know this is my dream vacation, hope I don’t get nightmares.

So probably not my sisters favorite thing to do, but because she loves me so much. I would love to go shopping or at least visit some of the most famous fashion designers in the world.  This would be mine and my sisters greatest differences, I know all the famous designers and she has probably read all the famous authors! It would be great if we were in Paris during Paris fashion week, so we could take in one of the runway fashion shows. Pierre Cardin , Christian Dior , Louis Vuitton , Coco Chanel and Hubert de Givenchy to name a few. I love everything fashion and would love to tour all the exquisite shops and design houses.

After impressing my sister with latest couture of Paris, I could make it up to her by treating her to a delectable array of famous chocolatiers, french pastries, cheeses and my favorite french food, crepes. My sister and I would love to sample the famous french cuisine.

Finally after our busy schedule sightseeing, my sister and I can kick off our shoes from our tired feet and take in some water sports. Our best times together have always including fun in the water! France’s French riviera would be beautiful beach to relax on or the emerald green waters of the Gorge du Verdon also would be fun to visit. My dream vacation would not only be a dream because France is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, my vacation would be a dream because I would be going with my beautiful sister Shanowa. Ever since we were young we dreamed of the far away places we would visit together.  Winning a grad trip from S Trip would be a dream come true!
