“We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls’ and women’s empowerment and now is the time for change. I think it is essential for girls and women to see and celebrate what is possible. Giannini

The Fashion Industry/Pageants are usually not  considered in our society as an advocates for women or of seeing women in a favorable light. However as a candidate of Miss Teen Canada World 2013, I want to say that we are definitely  intelligent, socially conscious and have the ability to empower other Girls and Women!!! Through championing many of the issues and topics that affect us as women. One fashion leader Gucci has launched a new global campaign to support girls’ and womens’ empowerment, led by Salma Hayek Pinault, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and Frida Giannini.

Chime For Change aims to collect, unite, and strengthen voices speaking out for women and girls all around the globe and focuses on three key aspects: Justice, Health, Education. The stories range from Malala Yousafzai’s personal fight for education in Pakistan to headlines of violence against women in all corners of the world, from India to Ireland, South Africa, and Canada/ United States.

The primary aim is to encourage people throughout the world to support girls’ and womens’ projects in a personalized, individual way.

“CHIME FOR CHANGE, FOUNDED BY GUCCI, IS A NEW GLOBAL CAMPAIGN TO RAISE FUNDS AND AWARENESS FOR GIRLS’ AND WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT.

CHIME FOR CHANGE serves to convene, unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for girls and women around the world. We focus on three key areas: Education, Health and Justice.

CHIME FOR CHANGE is powered by Catapult, the first crowd-funding site where people can make real change happen for girls and women. Through Catapult, nonprofit organizations post their projects and people can find and fund the issues that speak to them the most.”

MANIFESTO

Throughout history, women have done things differently.
When we need to get something done, we do it together.
With each new generation our story has spread wider.
The voices telling it braver, more powerful.

But the story is far from over. These are extraordinary times.
Thanks to technology, women across the world have the ability to connect in ways unimaginable to those who went before us. We believe that connection empowers us.

We are proud to be joining a growing movement of many.
The young and the old, women and men, from all cultures and all walks of life who want to see change. Not one, but billions of voices calling for the empowerment of girls and women. Empowerment through education, through health, through justice.

This is about hearing a call – to join us wherever you are.
About raising an alarm – drawing attention where there is work to be done.
Our issues are the world’s issues.

This is the sound of connection.
This is the sound of progress.
This is the sound of change.

AROUND THE WORLD, GIRLS AND WOMEN LACK THE PROTECTION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY THEY DESERVE. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND TRAFFICKING DISPROPORTIONATELY AFFECT WOMEN.

AND IN SPITE OF GAINS, WOMEN HOLD JUST 21% OF SEATS IN NATIONAL PARLIAMENTS GLOBALLY. BUT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY, WOMEN EMPOWER THEMSELVES AND IMPROVE OUTCOMES FOR THEIR FAMILIES, COMMUNITIES AND COUNTRIES.
